Novel ini adalah kisah Martin yang pergi ke San Franciso untuk belajar dan memantapkan Bahasa Inggeris. Di situ dia bertemu dengan Gabriella lalu jatuh cinta antara satu sama lain. Walau pertemuan itu hanyalah singkat, tapi mereka tahu dan percaya perasaan cinta itu adalah benar. Mereka berpisah bila Martin perlu kembali ke Paris.
Selepas 10 tahun, Martin adalah seorang ditektif yang berjaya di Paris. Dia berkerja keras untuk menangkap pencuri karya-karya agung yang terkenal, Archibald. Tugasan ini telah membawa Martin kembali ke San Fransisco.
Gabrielle, Martin dan Archibald ada kaitan, tetapi hanya Archibald yang tahu bagaimana. Nak tahu apa kaitan Martin, Gabriella dan Archibald? jawapannya..baca la novel ni..hehehe
